Eco-Story

Over the last century the earth’s surface temperature has increased by nearly one degree Celsius and global temperatures have been constantly soaring. In January 2020, Norway reported a temperature 25 degrees higher than is normal at this time of year and global warming is considered to be a main contributor to melting glaciers and rising sea levels.

We have always had a responsible sourcing policy, however, following recent heightened media attention we felt we needed to do more than we already do. With ever increasing commitment from businesses, individuals and governments around the world not least the ‘Fridays for Future’ campaign instigated by Greta Thunberg, we feel it is more important than ever to actively showcase our eco-credentials.

Our products are manufactured from sustainable timbers such as mango or completely reclaimed woods including recycled boat wood, driftwood, and village teak root. The decision to discontinue printing a paper copy of our 200 page brochure has enabled us to invest in improving our packaging materials too.

We will be seen to gradually remove the use of non-recyclable materials like the polystyrene corners and replace with stiff cardboard corners. Packaging will still be drop test compliant, but more environmentally friendly. This will make it easier to recycle and ensures we continue to be Package Waste Regulations 2007 compliant. In turn, this will also help you minimise your environmental impact.

Our paper brochure has been replaced with a full online flipbook catalogue. The search function makes it so easy to find what you are looking for by product type, code, or range name, and the pages are downloadable as pdfs. It’s an easy virtual sales tool for you to use in store and also for your customers to peruse in the comfort of their own home.
